Gave up the unequal struggle, and spent 14 hrs in the local casino, playing cash poker.
I expected to lose .. Probably £20 an hr, and things didn't look good, when I suffered a monster bad beat early, and was soon down £100, but, didn't quite go on tilt, and hooked up with an exceptionally well-balanced local pro, who at 24, has a great future.
I think I may have affected his game a bit, as he ended up losing £500 on the day, whilst I won £120, which I took as a major victory.
The rake in the place is 10%, up to a cap of £20, so, the casino gets plenty. 3 tables were going for most of the day, and I even bumped into the pro, I had a disagreement with, who appologised.
Over 14 hrs, u get good beats, and bad beats, thou, one local pro, who played v well, for 8 hrs, got bad beated 4 times in a row, and kept his cool, which I thought was a great effort.
I am now stuck back at the airport, for a flight in 8 hrs. I am on standby for a flight in 3 hrs time, but.not hopeful. All the restaurants are rammed, but it's cool enough, so, will probably spend the day, watching ckt on the laptop,and reading.
Have a small position against India, but, just for something to look at, every now and then.

Poker in the downtime
As the test has ended early, and flights from CapeTown are totally rammed,I have 2 days of enforced downtime.
I can watch some of the Aus v Sri Lanka Test on Tv, but, it's an early morning game, so, am stuck for things to do, during the day.
I am really enjoying played Tournament Poker, but, the local casino in Cape Town is v limited, and only has 2-3 low limit cash games.
I suck at cash poker, but,get a really perverse thrill out of besting the local pros, who only have a few hours to get a handle on my play. This isn't easy for them,as I play a super aggressive game, with little modifications, from the way I play tournaments.
In 2 days, I have already got 3 lots of verbal abuse, and put 2 pros on tilt. They usually get the money, but, have had my share of hitting 5 outers, and they are not best pleased.
I took absolute joy, from beating a local pro, out of a monster pot, with a pair of 3's, when he had something like 14 cards to hit to beat me. He gave me the usual .. Rants .. And I compounded his tilt, by asking the dealer to cash me out.

Some rain overnite, and the possibility of a delayed start, but, the pitch was ok.
SA lose Petersen and Du Plessis, 286-5 after 74 .. Lead by 241
New ball taken, 305-5 ..
NZ fight back, a bit, getting SA 335-6, just before lunch. Elgar manages 21, which will be a relief to him, after a dodgy Test career start.
Still looks like a 400 lead, and maybe/definately see NZ bat again, today.
After lunch, De Villiers is bowled for 67, and SA 342-7, lead by 297.
So, SA declare .. 347-8 .. Lead of 302.
Smith has become a great deal more aggressive in his declarations, and I applaud him 100%.
Steyn opens ..bowls some good stuff, and gets Guptil for 0.

On paper, the biggest mis-match since David took on Goliath.
Weather forecast for Cape Town, is lotsa sunshine .. this wont be a rain affected draw.
Cape Town, can be a pitch, where u can block, pretty easily, all day .. thou dont tell the Aussies that, as we saw all 4 innings in 1 day, in the corresponding fixture last yr.

The actual Bill is 157 pages long .. plenty of room, for sneaky things to be stuck in, but, cant immediatley see anything about Poker.
There is stuff about Tax credits for 2/3 wheel electric vehicles, Puerto Rico Rum, Diesel fuel and special rules for motorsport enterainment .. so, some lobbyists were obviously at work.
Hoping Poker / Internet Gaming legislation, gets a chance this year .. I thing its better than evens money, something gets done.
